{ homemade petticoat }

Last night I felt like an absolute princess.

This vintage dress is what vintage should really be about...  It was my grandmothers.  It was a strapless dress, with a full circle skirt that hung flat.  Here I have added satin straps, and made this huge petticoat...

With just 12 metres of black netting, bias binding, and even more black thread, some magic mother power and lost of guess work, my mother and I made this amazing petticoat.  

My inspiration was 1950s Dior...

I wore the finished dress to The Savoy Ball last night at The Battersea Arts Centre.  It was an amazing night, I had some fantastic dances and I wish I could do it all over again tonight!!!
